Lies Caeyers wears many hats: she is a collector and conservator, a designer, a shopkeeper, a scholar or a scientist. She likes to combine traditional skills with contemporary techniques, often collaborating with research centres and technical specialists. This multidisciplinary approach results in a highly varied visual output.

After attaining a Master's degree in Visual Art from Sint Lucas Antwerp, Caeyers expanded her experience with an additional Master's year at Konstfack University of arts and crafts in Stockholm. She held her first, fully-fledged exhibition Kabinet, in 2015 at her atelier in Ghent. Since then her work has been displayed at several art venues in Flanders. In the first half year of 2020, she showed us her first series of oil paintings in the St Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent, as part of an exhibition linked to the return of the recently restored central panel of The Ghent Altarpiece by van Eyck. In January 2021, her first retrospective was presented at Nationale 8 Gallery, Brussels.
